You were my favourite rider from the very first time I went to Ipswich back in 1973 at just 10 years old. I was such a huge fan that when you left Ipswich I refused to go because I couldn’t imagine Ipswich speedway without you and I didn’t return until you came back as manager! Thank you for so many fantastic memories. Being at Wembley in 1975 and Belle Vue when you won the Division One Riders Championship, are nights I’ll never forget. You were the best. Rest in Peace John Tiger Louis.

My condolences to Chris and John's family. Growing up in walking distance of Foxhall Stadium, John was my first sporting hero. Always gave his all for the Witches but favourite event has to be as an 8 year old, watching John pip Ivan Mauger for 3rd at Wembley, the longest minute of my life! Always proud when he represented England as well as he was one of our own. A true Ipswich and speedway legend, Rest In Peace Tiger
